Srinivas Prasad’s followers organise silent march

A silent protest was organised in the city on Sunday by the fans and followers of former minister V Srinivas Prasad. They demanded immediate change in Congress leadership in the state. The rally saw the participation of more than 3,000 people.

They alleged that loyal party leaders and honest ministers like Srinivas Prasad were dropped while the corrupt ones have been retained in the cabinet.

Holding portraits of Srinivas Prasad, the protesters wore black ribbon on their right hand and displayed placards that sated ‘Siddaramaiah hatao Congress bachao’, ‘Siddaramaiah should stop patronising illegal mining’, ‘CM should stop anti Dalit stance’.

Addressing supporters of Srinivas Prasad, former mayor Purushotham who lead the protest rally that began from Town Hall and concluded at Ambedkar Park in Ashokapuram said that this silent protest was to send clear message to both Siddaramaiah and Congress high command over biased politics.

Supporters from Mysuru and Chamarajanagar district joined the silent march. Community organisations including Dalit, Nayaka, Muslims, Christians, and NGO Odanadi volunteers were present.
