Srirampura residents stage protest; demand closure of MSIL liquor shop

Mysuru, December 3:- The residents of Srirampura on Monday staged protest urging the authorities to close down the government-run MSIL liquor shop near Maramma Temple on Srirampura Main Road in the city.

The protesters said that the liquor shop is located near the temple and school, and often the drunkards misbehave with the people including girls and women, thus embarrassing them. They demanded immediate closure of the liquor shop.

The protesters said that they would request the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner and the Commissioner of the Excise Department to close the shop. More than 200 members took part in the protest. (KS, NGB)
