Sadvidya Semi-Residential PU College wore a festive look as it celebrated its 10th annual day titled ‘Samoda’ yesterday.
The day was reserved for a gala presentation and was a befitting occasion for the spontaneous outburst of high-spiritedness in a broad range of creativity. Swami Nityasthanandaji Maharaj of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram inaugurated the annual day.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “We should all do something for the society and education is important as it helps to strengthen the mind.” He also stressed that culture is important for students.
A razzmatazz of colours, a bevy of performances and a whirlpool of talent defined the day. With students dressed in their best attire, they zealously participated by setting the stage on fire with their theatrics, shook a leg and sang film-based songs. A dance drama ‘Tri Shakti’ and a mime show representing a student life was staged on the occasion. On the occasion, the students were also presented with endowment cash prize for showing academic excellence in 2015-2016.
