The stage is all set for the valedictory ceremony of the ninth edition of Bengaluru International Film Festival (Biffes) scheduled to take place at the Mysuru Palace premises in the evening.
The Biffes which was held simultaneously in Bengaluru and Mysuru from past six days will conclude today.
Governor Vajubhai Vala is expected to grace the occasion and will also give away awards for the award winning films, while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will preside over the event.
A galaxy of elected representatives including PWD Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait, Mayor M J Ravikumar, chairman of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), Sa Ra Govindu along with Sandalwood stars will take part in this grand affair that will be held in the heritage city.
The inauguration ceremony which was held at Bengaluru received good response, especially the journey of Sandalwood presented through light and sound garnered the highest applause. On the same lines to add colour to the valedictory ceremony, a series of cultural programmes such as a dance performance by film artiste Nirupama Rajendra and troupe has been organised.
On the occasion, ten awards will be given for the best movies screened during the festival under various categories including Kannada cinemas, Kannada popular cinema, Indian cinema and Asia cinema.
Entry for public
With the ongoing work and closure of BN Road due to concretisation, visitors with passes are asked to enter the premises from Jayamarthanda Gate of the Palace through Varaha Gate. Whereas, entry for VIPs and artistes has been arranged from Karikallu Thotti Gate. Seating arrangements for around eight thousand and odd people has been arranged by the authorities. Security has beefed up in the region.
