Standing Committee of Parliament on Finance to tour state: Veerappa Moily

Mysuru, July 11:- “The Standing Committee of the Parliament on Finance will tour Mysuru, Kodagu and Mangaluru Districts for two days each from Wednesday,” said the president of the Standing Committee, M Veerappa Moily at a press meet held at a private hotel here on Tuesday.

“Discussions on the improvement of financial conditions of the country, bank-related problems and Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be held. I supported GST as it was necessary. Allegations are being made against GST. We will not debate on hike and reduction in fuel prices but on tax and excise duty. We will discuss coffee market in Kodagu and international banking, national highway, investment and business in Mangaluru,” he said.

“If the central government doesn’t waive off loans, it is essential for the state government to waive off loans. The standing committee will also think about the loans of farmers and submit a report on the responsibility of the state to the central government,” he added.
