Mysuru, July 27:- To mark B S Yediyurappa government completing one year in the office, KPMK Charitable Trust distributed immunity-boosting Ayurvedic drugs to pourakarmikas at Ballal Circle here on Sunday (July 26). Face masks were also distributed on the occasion to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP leader Lakshmidevi said, “Yediyurappa government has done a good job in the last one year. Despite coronavirus pandemic threatening to disrupt life, the government has stood the ground. The BJP government is taking all precautionary measures to fight coronavirus, but if there is an increase in the number of cases, people are responsible and not the government. Schemes announced during this testing times should also be welcomed.”
The BJP leader said, “When Yediyurappa took charge of the state, there was a flood-like situation and the whole state was wriggling to come out of the tough situation. The chief minister fought single-handedly to fight the floods.”
Praising Yediyurappa for accommodating rebels from Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) in the government, Lakshmidevi said, “The veteran leader didn’t forget the promise made to the rebels before the government was formed. We can recall what H D Kumaraswamy did to Yediyurappa when BJP and JD(S) had a coalition government in the state. Kumaraswamy went back on his promise of sharing power with Yediyurappa. I hope the present government will complete its term without hassles. I shall also pray to God to give us the strength to fight the pandemic.”
Cable Mahesh, Mallikarjun, Jeevadhara Girish, Vikram Iyengar, Lohith and others were present on the occasion. (MR/KS)
