Mysuru, August 13:- State president of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha Badagalapura Nagendra has urged the central government to declare the floods in Karnataka as a national disaster. He was speaking to media at Nanjangudu on Tuesday.
“Most of the districts in the state are flood-hit. Thousands of people have become homeless, while many farmers have lost their crops. The state is in need of higher funds from the central government. This situation should be announced as a national disaster. We have already done surveys in several taluks of the district. We will visit North Karnataka soon. There should not be any politics as far as floods are concerned. Leaders should respond to the problems of the flood-hit people,” he said. (MR/KS)
