State govt failed in solving problems of ASHA workers: Cong leader Dr Pushpa Amarnath

Mysuru, July 16:- The president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) women’s wing Dr Pushpa B Amarnath on Thursday (July 16) alleged that the state government has completely failed in fulfilling the demands of accredited social health activist (ASHA) workers.

She was speaking at a press meet held at the Congress office on JLB Road in the city.

“Role of ASHA workers is important in controlling the coronavirus pandemic, but the state government has not addressed their issues and fulfilled their demands. The government which identified ASHA workers as “corona warriors” has not given them the due recognition. The assured monetary assistance has also not been given to them. They are not provided with health and safety kits. At least now the government should respond to the problems of ASHA workers,” she said. (KS, NGB)
