State govt is anti-poor people: AAP leader Malavika Gubbivani

Prime News, Karnataka, Mysuru, May 6:- A government that actually cuts ration quantity during a pandemic is definitely an anti-poor people government, alleged Malavika Gubbivani, district convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Mysuru.

“The ration quantity of food grains given to BPL families under state PDS and PM Garib Kalyan Scheme has been drastically cut when poor people do not have regular means of livelihood and are finding it difficult to get two square meals a day. The government has stopped the Indira Canteen scheme to top it all.”

She said, “AAP demands that at least 10 kg of food grains per person per month be made available to BPL card holders out of which half can be rice and the other half ragi/wheat. These food grains must be provided either totally free or if not possible at a subsidised rate of Rs 2 per kg. A similar scheme is available in Delhi and if not for the intervention of Lieutenant Governor, the ration food grains would have been delivered to the doorstep of families. Concerned with their electoral impact, the central government enacted the amended GNCTD Act 2021 to stop all pro-people schemes of the AAP government. The Centre has similarly curtailed all powers of the states and now our powerless Chief Minister Yeddyurappa is awaiting PM’s approval to impose lockdown in the state during a raging pandemic and people are dying everywhere. It is really unfortunate,” (MR)
