State level Brahmin youth convention held

Two-day state level Brahmin youth convention, organised by Zilla Brahmana Yuva Vedike was inaugurated by Justice Rama Joise at Vidyashankara Nilaya, Agrahara Circle, Mysuru.

Addressing over 4,000 Brahmin youths from all over the state, Ganapathi Sachhidananda Ashram seer Vijayananda said: “Lack of proper unification of Brahmin youth has led them either jobless or working for meagre salaries and living at the mercy of employers.”


Famous playback singer Archana Udapa, Convention President Mullur Guruprasad, former Minister S A Ramdas, District Co-operative Union President H V Rajeev, Prof Bhanu Prakash Sharma, Ilai Alwar Swamiji of Vangipura Mutt, Melkote and others were present on the first day of the convention.

The conference is set to deal with various problems faced by Brahmin community such as lack of representation at global level and undervaluing by other communities in the society.

As part of the convention, thousands of Brahmin youths took part in a jatha from Kote Anjaneyswamy temple to Vidya Shankara Nilaya on Saturday evening.

The valedictory of the convention will be held at 4 pm, on Sunday. Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha (AKBMS) State President K N Venkatanarayan will preside over the programme in the gracious presence of Sri Ramanuja Narayana Jeeyar Swamiji of Yadugiri Yatiraj Mutt, Bengaluru.
