Mysuru, October 18:- “We have received information that Bangladesh terrorists are entering Karnataka. The state police are prepared to nab Bangla Mujahideen terrorists,” said Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
He was speaking to media persons in the city on Friday.
“The Ministry of Home Affairs has already informed us about the entry of terrorists from Bangladesh and from Kashmir Valley. They are said to be active in coastal areas of Karnataka. They are already residing in crowded areas of the state. People of Karnataka need not worry about any rumours,” he said.
Responding to a media question on finding more than 20 terror hideouts in Bengaluru, the minister said that some information cannot be revealed for public safety.
Responding to Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa promising to provide drinking water to several villages of Maharashtra during an election campaign, the minister said that the chief minister has said keeping in view Karnataka and Maharashtra’s policy of give and take water when the need arises.
“There is no problem to implement Auradkar report in the state. It has included the police who work in the fire brigade, prisons and other sections. The report has been submitted to the finance department. After the department’s approval, the chief minister’s approval will be taken,” he added. (MR/KS)
