Mysuru, September 21:- “All streetlights on the outer ring road (ORR) of Mysuru city should be lit before Dasara celebrations begin. Authorities should work together in tandem,” said District in-charge Minister V Somanna on Friday.
He inspected the streetlights from Hinkal Junction to Deve Gowda Circle in the night and instructed the officials that every street light must be in good condition before Dasara festival begins and no area in the city should be in darkness.
“Every circle on the ring road must be illuminated. The public commute in large numbers on this road. If Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) co-ordinate together, there won’t be any electrical problems, he said.
“The ORR has been constructed under the central government’s plan and there are about 2100 power poles. Allotted to the MUDA and MCC, the Outer Ring Road has remained in the dark due to lack of coordination among them. District in-charge Minister has now solved the problem,” said Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha.
Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Shankar, MCC Commissioner Gurudutta Hegde, MUDA Commissioner PS Kantharaju, CESCom managing director Gopalakrishna, senior engineer Munigopal Raju and others were present. (MR/KS)
