Mysuru, October 16:- Now people of Mysuru need not go to Mulbagal to have their favourite Mulbagal dosa as it is now available in Mysuru itself; District Minister S T Somashekar inaugurated ‘Mulbagal Dosa Corner’ at Pai Vista Hotel here on Saturday (October 16).

Mysuru-Kodagu Member of Parliament Pratap Simha and Chamaraja Constituency MLA L Nagendra were also present.

After inaugurating the dosa corner, Somashekar along with Simha, MLA Nagendra, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gautham, Mysuru Commissioner of Police Dr Chandragupta tasted the dosa.

Speaking on the occasion, Simha said that the tourist inflow for this year’s Dasara was expected to cross more than 30 lakh. “In 2019, there were nearly 30 lakh tourists who visited Mysuru during Dasara festivities. This year, it is expected to cross 30 lakh. The turnout was really good.”

Sujay Pai of Pai Vista Hotel said, “The main Intention behind starting MDC was to offer something special to the people of  Mysuru. Mysuru has the craze for dosas and other south Indian snacks. Mulbagal dosa is a very popular variety of dosa made in the town of Mulbagal. People from Bengaluru were driving down to Mulbagal to taste this tasty dose. So, we thought that it would be a good idea to introduce the same in Bengaluru and Mysuru.

He said, “Yes, we have tied up with the family who first introduced the Mulbagal dose in Mulbagal town so that we can offer the same, authentic taste in Mysuru.” He also mentioned that the difference between other dosas and Mulbagal dosa is that Mulbagal dosa is a homemade and crispy variety of dosa. The batter and the style of preparation vary from the other regular dosas. The tawa on which this is made also is different.”

Mulbagal Dosa Corner operates for morning breakfast between 7 am and 12 noon and for evening snacks from 4 pm to 7.30 pm on all days. “Apart from Mulbagal Dosa, we also have our house specialty sabbakki idli, lemon ottu shavige, puliogere shavige, etc. We also have regular snacks like idli, vada, khara bath and kesari bath. We offer one of the best coffees in town which is served in special brass cups which maintain the right temperature.” (MR)
