Students play important role curbing down crime rate: Shivaswamy

Students play an important role in stopping injustice in the society, said police circle inspector Shivaswamy in Yallandur.

Speaking at the crime prevention month function held at Adarsh School, Yallandur, he said that rural people should be educated about road safety. “Students studying in towns and cities should teach their parents and relatives about the importance of road safety. They should be convinced that wearing helmet is a compulsory measure in order to prevent serious damage during accidents. If the students happen to see any form of illegal activities around them, they should report it to the nearest police station without any fear.”

Taluk Panchayat member Y K Molle Nagaraju said that every year crime prevention month is celebrated in order to curb crime rates and spread awareness among the public. Public support is very crucial in order to eradicate crime in the society, he said.

Umamaheshwari, Pavithra, Gurumurthy, Dr Kiran, Nanjundaswamy and others were present on the occasion.
