Hundreds of students of St Joseph’s First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, here, took to the streets protesting against V V Puram Traffic Police for towing away their two-wheelers parked at the college campus.
The enraged students also blocked the Hunsur Road for nearly 90 minutes resulting in a traffic jam in the region. According to the students, police took nearly 15 vehicles from the college parking lot without informing them. They also raised slogans against the college principal for allowing police to take their vehicles and also argued with traffic Inspector Vivekananda. Corporator Nandeesh Preetham also visited the spot and questioned the police officials.
Students called off the protest only after ACP (Traffic) K N Madaiah asked the inspector to release the vehicles.
