Students protest; urge govt to provide free KSRTC bus passes

Mysuru, July 14:- Students have continued their stir for free KSRTC bus passes. A protest was held by AIDYO activists in front of Siddarthanagar First Grade College amidst the rain on Friday.

The protesters said that the state government had promised free bus passes for students in the last budget. But now the benefit has been given only to SC/ST students. Calling it injustice, the students shouted slogans against the state government.

More than 22 lakh students have to apply for the bus passes. They urged the government to release an additional Rs 629.32 crore to facilitate bus passes. (MR/KS).
