Worried over the silence of concerned authorities of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) in taking necessary action to get recognition from UGC, the students staged a huge protest on Tuesday. More than 300 students who gathered at the premises of KSOU submitted a memorandum to the KSOU VC Prof D Shivalingaiah and Registrar P S Naik, urging them to get recognition for the KSOU courses since 2012. The protesting students urged the authorities to take swift action for procuring the approval.
The future of thousands of students, who are pursuing courses in KSOU, is at stake, the students said, adding that the university has done nothing to safeguard students’ interest. “Students who have en-rolled after 2012 are in a fix.” The marks card provided by KSOU is of no value and we are not allowed to take up any Public Service Examinations, the students alleged. KSOU authorities should act immediately and secure recognition to the courses, they added.
The aggrieved students of KSOU submitted a memorandum to KSOU VC Prof D Shivalingaiah seeking recognition of courses.
