Subbanna Memorial, Mandya Ramesh Natakotsava to be held in city from July 12 to 16

Subbanna Memorial and Mandya Ramesh Natakotsava will be held from July 12 to 16 at Natana Rangashale in the city.

Theatre lovers have the opportunity to visit Natana Rangashale and witness various plays directed by Mandya Ramesh which is being held in memory of senior theatre-personality, thinker and playwright K V Subbanna.  Natana Rangashale will stage series of plays for five days.

On July 12,, Habeeb Tanveer’s ‘Chora Charanadasa’ will be staged, where journalist and senior theatre personality Vijayamma, MUDA chairperson K R Mohan Kumar and City Police Commissioner B Dayananda will preside over the function.

On July 13, Dr Sujatha Akki’s ‘Chama Cheluve’ will be staged, where University of Mysore Administrative Officer Dr C Ramaswamy, KSOU Kannada Professor Dr Kavitha Rai will preside. On July 14, Dr Da Ra Bendre’s ‘Saayo Aata’ will be staged at 6:30 pm.

A lecture on K V Subbanna’s life and works will be held by K R Sumathi of National School of Drama on July 15 and on the same day at 5:30 pm scholar Dr R S Nandakumar will speak on “Bharatana Natyashashtrada Hegge Gurutugalu.”
