Subramanya Shashti puja held at Siddalingapura in Mysuru

Mysuru, December 9:- The Subramanya Shashti (Champa Shashti) puja began in the early hours at Subramanyeswara Swamy Temple at Siddalingapura village on Mysuru-Bengaluru Road here on Thursday (December 9).

The rituals started in the morning at 5 am by the temple’s head priest, Subramanya.

Speaking on the occasion, Subramanya said, “We have offered Rudrabisheka, Sahasranamavali to the god in the morning itself as the jewelry for the idol has to come from the Mysuru royal family members.”

He also said “A Rathotsava celebration used to be held on the Shashti day in the temple every year. But this year the district administration has banned the event due to the current surge in new Covid variant Omicron across the state. It’s very disheartening to know the devotees will not get an opportunity to see the god and decorations.” (AM/SM)
