Mysuru, September 19:- During the last week of December 2019 – December 22, through 29, Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) is embarking on a unique “Walk” titled the “Walk-Within,” a walk that will help participants experience Bharat and explore their own selves. This is “A walk of discovery, hope, and inspiration…an 8-day walk through rural Bharat garnished with inspiring talks that shall touch soul, stimulate thought and motivate action. In short, this walk is an 8-day exploration of the real “Bharat” – both within and without… an understanding as much of ourselves as it is of our own “Self.”
The walk and the interwoven talks will provide participants with an opportunity to reflect, question, pause, and ponder over what development actually means, what it means to be poor, what it takes to build human and social capital, and what it means to truly democratise development.
This 8-day walk is an attempt to see if a few young potential “change-makers” can be identified and sensitised about the need to engage with society – perhaps it would serve to help in connecting them to their own life’s cause. (MR)
