Swachh Bharat campaign: MLA Ramadass leads cleanliness drive in MCC Ward 63

Mysuru, November 5:- Krishnaraja Constituency MLA S A Ramadas inaugurated cleanliness drive in Ward 63 of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), BEML Nagar, near Ganapathy Temple on Sunday.

“We have already started to make the dream of Swachh Bharat come true. We have taken up the initiative of organising cleanliness drive on every Sundays in Krishnaraja Constituency. Corporators, members of various organisations and the residents are taking part in cleanliness drive from 6:30 am to 9:30 am. We identify various areas and conduct this drive. We have decided to prepare organic manure at all the parks using the fallen leaves. Preparation has already been completed for this purpose. Few wards are very large and the number of pourakarmikas is inadequate. It has become difficult to clean the roads completely with the limited number of pourakarmikas. We will submit a report on this to the state government and request them to appoint more pourakarmikas based on the requirement. In addition we need people’s participation to ensure cleanliness. After cleaning up all the wards, we will start a new campaign, waste free kitchen in Krishnaraja Constituency,” the MLA added.

Ravindra, G R Nagaraj, officials of MCC and Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) were present. (GK. NGB)
