Mysuru, July 23:- “The central government is organising Swachh Survekshan Grameen – 2018 to keep the villages clean and tidy. The centre started the initiative on July 13 in New Delhi. The campaign aims at making the rural people understand the importance of cleanliness,” said Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO P Shivashankar at a meeting held at ZP Hall in the city on Monday.
“Survey at public places, cleanliness of communities, Jio blog photo uploads at Swachh Bharat Mission, announcement of Open Defecation-Free (ODF) villages and other issues will be considered to award ranking for the villages. The best states and districts will be awarded during Gandhi Jayanti event in Delhi on October 2. 680 districts, 6,980 villages, 34,000 public places will be inspected and interviews and opinions from 50 lakh people will be collected. Taluk and Zilla Panchayats have to give wider publicity for the campaign. Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of the campaign gives 35 marks, opinions of the public gives 35 marks and survey of schools, public places, anganwadi centres, health centre, fairs, bus terminals and religious places gives 30 marks. The campaign has to be launched and carried out effectively in the state,” he said.
