“D Javare Gowda had dedicated his time to nurture young writers and had helped them grow. This is beyond his significant contribution to Kannada literature and education,” remarked, eminent writer Malali Vasanth Kumar on Sunday.He was speaking after inaugurating a seminar on “De Ja Gow Sahithya Sadhane” organised by Swajanya Samskruthika Vedike in memory of the Nadoja D Javare Gowda at District Kannada Sahithya Parishat.
He said that D Javare Gowda, who served in various capacities, was one of the prominent leaders who worked towards promotion of Kannada language. “Though Kannada language has seen many writers, very few have given importance to humanity and nation. De Ja Gow stands high in this regard”, he opined.“His contribution in promoting and getting classical status to Kannada and his tenure as Vice Chancellor were memorable”, he added.
Writers H L Shivabasappa, K M Yashodamma, Ranganath Mysore, Dharmaraj Hiremarali, Rathnapriya Belale, Kerodi M Lolakshi, K Paramesh Utthanahalli, Prasanna Hegde and others paid tribute to De Ja Gow through their writings. Social Worker Raghuram, District Kannada Sahithya Parishat President Dr Y D Rajanna, former President Chandrashekar, Writer T Sathish and others were present.
