Mysuru, February 8:- “Consuming tablets for intestinal worms makes one healthy. It prevents anaemia in children,” said District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Basavaraju.
He was speaking at Government Higher Primary School at Kumbarakoppal here on the occasion of National Guinea Worm Eradication Day recently.
He said that the children who won’t be able to take the tablet on February 8 will be provided on February 14. He said that Anganwadi workers, ASHA volunteers and the staff of Primary Health Centres are instructed to make the programme successful.
Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Dr Chidambar, deputy director of Women and Child Welfare Department, Padma, Dr Ravi Lakshman and BEO Uday Kumar were present. (MR/KS)
