Mysuru, June 15:- Mayor M J Ravi Kumar held a meeting of the officials at his office on Thursday regarding precautions to be taken to prevent spread of dengue in the city.
“Dengue is reportedly spreading in the city. People are complaining that many areas have become breeding centres for mosquitoes due to filthy conditions. Officials have look into the problem on priority basis to prevent epidemics,” the Mayor said.
Former mayor Sandesh Swamy sought information about the epidemics from the health officer, Dr Nagaraj. When he failed to give convincing answer, Swamy took him to task. There was a spat between the corporators and health officials over the issue.
The officials said that proper measures have been taken to keep the city clean. Deputy Mayor Rathna Laxman, former Mayor Ayub Khan, Mahadevappa, Fairoz Khan, Ashwini Ananth, Rajani Annaiah, Ayaz Pasha, Shaukath Pasha, Ramu, Indira, Srikantaiah and others were present. (MR/KS).
