Urging the government to take up the matter of drought and crop loss at the upcoming Belagavi special session, Janandolana Mahamythri Organisation, led by writer Devanuru Mahadeva, handed over a request letter to Chief minister’s office at zilla panchayat, Mysuru, on Thursday.
“Karnataka has a high rate of farmers’ suicide cases and also it is one of the low rainfall regions in the entire country. Karnataka has been drought-hit for the last two years. As a result, farmers are facing a lot of problems. The government should take suitable steps in the upcoming Belagavi special sessions,” Mahadeva urged.
Renunciation of debts of farmers, scientific solutions for crop rates and many more requests by the Janandolana Mahamythri Organisation, addressed to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, was handed over at the Zilla Panchayat office.
H Mahadeva, Hasirusene leader Hoskote Basavaraju, P Marankayya, Kavitha, Someshekar, Ganesh and others were present.
