Talks fail: PU lecturers on hunger strike

Karnataka State PU lecturers have started an indefinite hunger strike from April 13 as the talk with the state government has failed.

Nearly hundreds of pre university lectures of the state staged an indefinite hunger strike at the Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Wednesday morning urging the government to consider their demands and implement the recommendations of the G Kumar Nayak Committee Report addressing wage disparity.

President of the association Thimmaiah Purle said: “The state government must immediately address our demands and we will not withdraw the protest until all our demands are fulfilled.”

Melukote constituency MLA K S Puttanaiah expressed his support to the protesting lecturers.
