Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait inaugurated the ‘Chinnara Dasara’ (Children’s Dasara) at JK Grounds on Sunday.
On the first day of Chinnara Dasara organised under the aegis of Women and Children Dasara Sub-committee, fancy dress competition was held for kids. Children enthusiastically took part in the competition dressed up as Rama, Seetha, Lakshmana, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Shiva, Parvathi, Ganesha, soldier, farmer and many more.
The centre of attraction for the event was Drama Juniors fame Achinthya accompanied by his co-participants Mahendra, Amogh and Disha.
Speaking on the occassion, Tanveer Sait said: “In this busy and hectic life, we can find some relief watching and playing with children. We need to learn patience and innocence from them. It is our duty to provide them with all facilities and encourage them to achieve their goals in life.”
“As the future of our nation lies in their hands, we need to create awareness among them about the history, culture, heritage and tradition of our nation,” he added.
President of Women and Children Rights Commission Kripa Alwa was present at the event.
