Mysuru, September 29:- Tavarekere lake at Bettadapura of Periyapattana taluk is full to the brim after many years. Farmers and villagers are obviously are happy that the lake is full.
“It is the largest lake in the region. As it didn’t receive enough water over the years, neighbouring areas faced the shortage of groundwater. Agriculture activities had been hit hard. As a coincidence, after H D Kumaraswamy came to power, the state has received good rains and lakes are getting filled,” said Bettadapura village panchayat member and JD(S) rural committee member Ayyargiri.
He said that the MLA K Mahadev will offer bagina to the lake. (MR/KS).
