Tech giant Infosys fined by America

Prime News, International, New York, June 24:- Citing misuse of Visa regulation the New York state imposed a fine of “One Million Dollar” on Infosys Limited.

Bengaluru head quartered Infosys is a Indian Multinational company specialises in business consulting, Information Technology and outsourcing services.

It is learnt from the sources  that, on the grounds of hiring the foreign staff by Visa irregularities, the New York state slapped of fine of whooping “One Million Dollar” on technology giant Infosys,

In violation of H-1B visa the Infosys hired contract staff from foreign soil for a longer period than allowed. As per the reports suggests, by a compromise without any criminal or civil case Infosys agreed to pay the fines.

H-1B visa is issued by United States to non immigrant workers under the Immigration and Nationality Act, section 101(a)(17)(H). It permits the U.S employers to hire foreign workers on a temporary basis in various speciality occupations.

Just to recall, four years ago, the U.S also imposed a fine a 215 cores on Infosys, the firm agreed to pay the fines, but asked to provide violation details if any probe.

At the time concerns raised the prospect of IT/BPO companies sustainability under Donald Trump administration, this will be a big jolt to Infosys, the firm clarified to the authority that it is ready to hire local workforce.
