After sweltering summer heat here comes a relief. Temperature is set to reduce and the next three days will be relatively cooler. And slight rainfall is expected from May 4 to 6, says the weatherman.
The maximum temperature in Mysuru district from April 30 to May 3 have been between 36.8 degrees Celsius and 37.9 degrees Celsius. Slight rainfall was recorded on the night of April 2 where it rained up to 14.6 mm. The minimum temperature has been ranging from 22.8 degrees Celsius to 20.9 degrees Celsius.
According to the statistics provided by the Organic Farming Research Station, Naganahalli, light to moderate rainfall may be expected from May 4 to 6. The day temperature is expected to be 35-36 degrees Celsius,and the night temperature is expected to be 20-21 degrees Celsius.
The relative humidity in the morning hours is expected to be 85-86 percent afternoon relative humidity is expected to be in the range 38 to 57 percent. Wind speed expected to be 0-2 kilometres per hour.
Before the onset of monsoon, farmers have been advised to vaccinate cows, buffaloes and bullocks against foot and mouth disease (FMD vaccination), BC vaccination against Black Quarter and also vaccinate them against Haemorrhagic Septicaemia. They have also been advised to vaccinate (Er vac-cine) sheep and goats against Enterotoxaemia. Farmers are recommended to plough the land in the areas where there is rainfall and it should be taken up across the slope as it improves infiltration and conservation of rain-water and keep it ready for pre-monsoon sowing.
