Temple tragedy: Lawyers asked not to help the accused

Mysuru, December 31:- Mysuru Kannada Vedike members staged a symbolic protest on Monday in front of Mysuru District Law Courts here and urged advocates not to fight the case in favour of the accused in Sulwadi Kichuguth Maramma Temple tragedy which claimed 17 people and scores of people fell ill.

“Mutts in the state provide food and education to students. The seer of Saluru Mutt poisoned the prasadam with a selfish motive. They have sullied the faith of devotees who come to temples with a lot of hope. We congratulate the police for arresting them so early. The government should take action against the seer. No advocate should take up the case in favour of those who have poisoned the food,” the protesters said.
