Temple tragedy: Protest against bail to accused

Mysuru, January 2:- Bhrashtachara Nirmoolana Samithi staged a protest on Wednesday, urging the authorities not to give bail to the accused who are guilty of poisoning the food at Sulvadi Maramma Temple in Kollegal taluk which resulted in the death of 17 devotees last month.

The protesters who had gathered in front of Gandhi bust near District Law Courts, opined that Immadi Mahadevaswamy, Ambika, Madesha and Doddaiah should be hanged to death for poisoning the food at the temple. They said that they are powerful enough to make the police department submit a B report if they are given bail. The protesters said that they have political influence and would mentally and physically torture the witnesses, who are from poor Madiga community. They all said that the guilty in the case don’t deserve bail at any cost.

Secretary of the organisation Rajesh Gadi, Dairy Venkatesh, Tyagaraj, Sadananda and others were present. (MR/KS)
