Temple trustees allege land grab by people, demolish illegal compound wall

A few persons claiming to be the owners of site 500×400 feet dimension coming under Shree Mugu Maramma and Shree Mahadevamma Temple at Khille Mohalla in Nachanahallipalya, Hosuru, here had constructed a wall allegedly to encroach the land in temple premises on Sunday night.

On coming to know about the incident, the temple trustee and president S Ramu and trustee Raju took action in demolishing the compound wall. They alleged that despite the court’s verdict in their favour, few unscrupulous elements with bogus cards were desperately trying to grab the temple land. The temple trust has complained to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, MCC officials and registered a complaint with Vidyaranyapuram Police to stop encroachment of their land and demolish the illegal constructions.

Ramu and Raju have threatened to launch a protest if there is no action from the concerned authorities to give protection to their land.
