Prabhakar Saathkhed, theatre artiste, actor and Economics professor from Kalaburgi was felicitated at Bhoomigeetha of Rangayana, Kalamandir, on Tuesday evening.
Prabhakar was felicitated for his achievement in theatre on the occassion of Navaratri Rangothsava organised by Rangayana of Mysuru.
Speaking on the occassion, Prabhakar said: “Though we blame Britishers for many things, we should learn how to love theatre from them. There are as many as hundred theatres in London. But in Karnataka it is active only in few cities like Bengaluru and Mysuru.”
“It is my privilege to be felicitated in the cultural hub Mysuru on the auspicious occasion of Navaratri,” he said.
Deputy director of Rangayana Nirmala Matapathi, coordinator Vinayakabhat Hasanagi, Krishnaprasad and others were present at the event.
Prior to the felicitation programme, Lavani dance performance by South Zone Cultural Centre, Maharashtra mesmerised the audience.
