Reviews of plays must be more mature, said senior theatre artist Dr N Ratna. He called for discussions on how theatre was being reviewed and how it should be reviewed in future.
He was speaking at the ‘Rangavimarshe – Andhu- Indhu’, a seminar and interactive session organised by Desiranga cultural organisation and Shri Rajeshwari vastralankara ranga thanda at Rangayana, Sunday.
“The reviewer must be associated with theatre before he reviews any drama or play. There is a difference between text books and theatre. A reviewer must have profound knowledge before reviewing a play. Matured reviews should be written about theatre,” he said.
Senior theatre artist Dr H K Ramnath was the chief guest for the seminar. Theatre director Prof H S Umesh, Shrikanta Gundappa and Prof C B Shridharamoorthy presented their papers on different Kannada books related to theatre.
