Director of Rangayana, H Janardhan (Janni) inaugurated the ‘B V Karantha College Theatre Training Workshop’ by painting the face of the students at Nataraja College for Women, recently.
Speaking on the occasion, “Our country is known for its rich culture and heritage. But the younger generation are spending their time on internet and social networking sites. Theatre teaches the human values to the students. Theatre should be the choice and right of the youth” said Janni.
“Learning needs interest and confidence. There should be no fear to learn. Selfishness, superstition, bribe and terrorism are ruining the society. We have to cultivate selflessness, analytical mindset among the youth. Theatre is the perfect stage for that. There are limited opportunities for rural girls to take part in theatre activities and Nataraja college is providing a good platform for them” he opined.
“We will have to face a lot of challenges in life. We need confidence to overcome those challenges. Such workshops help the students to be confident in life. Along with education, extracurricular activities are very much necessary” said G Prasadamurthy, Principal of Sri Nataraja Women’s PU College.
Teacher of the workshop, Praveen Belli, Dr M Sharada, Principal of Sri Nataraja Women’s Residential First Grade College were present on the occasion.
