Thieves burgle shops on Devaraja Urs Road in Mysuru, decamp with booty

Mysuru, August 20:- Thieves burgled several shops on the busy commercial street of D Devaraja Urs Road in the city on Wednesday night (August 19) and managed to loot the merchandise after breaking open the locks of the shutters and fled from the spot.

The merchants who had downed the shop shutters after business hours at about 10 pm on Wednesday were shocked to see the shop shutters open on Thursday morning and immediately informed the police. The serial thefts occurred at Pepe Jeans shop, Lewis, US Polo and Jamali Hardware shops located close to each other.

The culprits decamped with the merchandise and cash kept at the shops. The value of stolen merchandise and cash is yet to be ascertained.

Devaraja Police Inspector Prasanna along with finger print experts and sniffer dogs visited the spot. The Cases have been registered at the Devaraja Police Station and investigations are on. (NAV, KS)
