Thieves looting shops nabbed by CCB Police

Mysuru, September 28:- Several complaints had been filed about thieves stealing valuables from shops by breaking open the rolling shutters in Saraswathipuram, Udayagiri, Nazarbad and Vijayanagar Police Station limits. Police have arrested four in connection with the robberies.

The Commissioner of Police had formed a team of City Crime Branch (CCB) Police to arrest the thieves.

Gangadhar alias Appi, 28, of Karnala village in Bengaluru rural; Venkatesh, 34, Pujanahalli village, Devanahalli, Bengaluru and Santhosh C S, 29, Kumbrahalli village, Nanjangud taluk have been apprehended.

During interrogation, the thieves confessed to stealing valuables from shops along with two more. They also revealed that they looted shops in Chamarajanagar, Gadag, Mandya, Ramanagara. With their arrest, 17 cases have been solved.

The police have seized a Mahindra Verito car, one LED TV and a DVR.

The operation was guided by DCP Dr Vikram Amathe and led by CCB ACP B R Lingappa, Inspector Jagadish, ASI Chandregowda, Alexander, staff M R Ganesh, Yakub Sharif, Lakshmikanth, Chikkanna, Ramaswamy, Shivaraj, Anand, Niranjan, Prakash, Rajendra, Anil, Shyam Sundar, Manju, Gurudevaradhya, Gowtham, and Shivakumar.
