Think of flood relief works than grand Dasara: MP Srinivas Prasad

BJP will protect the disqualified MLAs, says Prasad

Mysuru, September 25:- “People of the state are suffering from floods. Is it necessary to observe a grand Dasara? Is it necessary to have Yuva Dasara, where youths sing and dance, and food festival where people eat and waste some food are necessary this time?” asked Bharatiya Janata Party’s Chamarajanagar Member of Parliament V Srinivas Prasad.

He was speaking to media persons in the city on Tuesday. He opined flood-hit areas need immediate attention.

“People are suffering due to floods. Is it necessary to have the city lit up for the festival? Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa should not use the word grand Dasara. The festival should be people’s Dasara, which I would also support. I don’t support grand Dasara,” he said.

“I am a senior politician. I am in BJP and AH Vishwanath casually met me and asked my advise regarding the by-elections. I gave him my opinions and suggestions. We are hopeful of the Supreme Court verdict coming in favour of disqualified MLAs,” he said responding to the questions on Vishwanath meeting him.

“The state government will remain unaffected. Disqualified MLAs will get ministry. BJP will win maximum seats in the by-elections,” he said.

Responding to the tweet war between Siddaramaiah and HD Kumaraswamy, he said that the people of Karnataka have observed who is a parrot and who is a vulture. He alleged that the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) didn’t work with mutual understanding which resulted in the collapse of the coalition government. Prasad said that the words of Siddaramaiah have proved that he was also a dissatisfied MLA in the government.

Responding to Congress and JD(S) who claimed they would win 15 seats, Prasad asked them to recall what happened 60 days back. He hoped that the BJP would win maximum seats in the by-elections.

“Siddaramaiah is still hallucinating. He is still dreaming of becoming chief minister again. The Congress and JD(S) who were friends 20 months ago are now fighting like enemies. Vishwanath has not discussed contesting the by-election from Hunsur. We will discuss it later. BJP will protect the disqualified MLAs,” he added. (MR/KS).
