Hunsur rural police have arrested three people on charges of theft and have recovered 210 grams of gold worth Rs 7.2 lakh.
Addressing reporters at SP office on Wednesday, Superintendent of Police Abhinav Khare briefed on how police solved three theft cases, two reported in Hunsur rural police stations limits and one in KRS police station limits. The accused have been identified as Abdul Rafi alias Andurafi (22), Govindaraju (20) and Umesh (23) all residents of Hunsur.
In the first case, the trio entered one Siddalinga Shetty’s house in Honnenahalli village of Hunsur taluj and made good with 8.5 gram gold chain. Later, they successfully entered Javaramma’s house in Neralukuppe village of Hunsur taluk and stole 150 gram gold chain. In another, they stole 52 gram gold chain from a house in Pandavapura taluk.
The police have also seized an Omni van and a bike used for the crime. Police briefed that Abdul Rafi has been a proclaimed offender and was out on bail after committing a similar offence. The accused were caught by Police who saw them moving around suspiciously.
