Mysuru: Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, GSSSIETW organised three-day faculty development program on ‘Analog and Digital System Design Using Cadence Tool’ from January 23 to 25. Navin Sankar. J, Field Application Engineer, Entuple Technologies, Bengaluru, was the chief guest and resource person of the FDP.
Sankar, in his address, briefed the audience about the topics to be covered in various sessions of the three days program. He also mentioned that the focus of the session will be to familiarise with design methodologies adopted in both the analog and digital design flow.
In the three-day FDP program, the hands-on sessions covered the following topics: Introduction to Cadence Tool Flow, Schematic Entry, Pre and post-Layout Simulation, GDSII generation, CIC Flow, RTL Design, Functional Simulation, Synthesis Timing Simulation, DFT, Floor Planning, Power Planning, Placement, Clock Tree Synthesis Routing, GDSII & Physical Verification etc. In a nutshell, the faculty members were enriched with the knowledge on the recent cutting edge technologies in VLSI and the recent advancements in the area of research.
More than 25 participants from various parts of Karnataka and Kerala, to name a few from Hubli, Gadag, Ranebennuru, Bengaluru, Dakshina Karnataka, Mysuru, Kollam, Kerala took active participation in the FDP.
