JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing organised three-day national seminar on ‘Acoustic and Perceptual Analysis of Voice and Speech’ at Rajendra Bhavan, recently.
After inaugurating the programme, Dr Savithri, Director, All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH), said: “Several disorders of speech and hearing could be identified and solved easily with the help of available advanced technology. The voice can be detected through the wave detecting instruments. The revolution of computer is very advanced that it converts the signs into numbers that helps to clear a child’s voice. There are more than 500 apps relating to the subject are available online. Thus the students should conduct research on the topic of speech and hearing through the available technology.”
In the seminar organised by JSS to train students in using the equipments, more than 60 students from the neighbouring states were present. Dr N Rathna, AIISH, Dr N P Nagaraj and others were present.
