Tibetan National Uprising Day: Hundreds of activists take out protest march in Mysuru

Mysuru, March 10:- A peaceful procession was taken out on Saturday through the main thoroughfares of the city from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple premises to mark the 59th Tibetan National Uprising Day.

Hundreds of Tibetans took part in the rally organised by the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association, Tibetan Youth Congress of Bylakuppe, Hunsur and Kollegal Tibetan Settlement and Mysore Tibetan Students’ Association.

Over 500 members of the seven associations participated in the protest march which began with a brief prayer meeting opposite Mysuru Palace. The protesters held placards saying ‘Tibet’s Independence is India’s security, “We burn, we resist and we fight for freedom in Tibet.’”

The Tibetan activists called upon the governments, the United Nations organisation and individuals to pressurise the Chinese government to accept the middle-way-approach initiated by spirtual leader Nobel laureate Dalai Lama.
