Tiger caught by forest department dies

Mysuru, June 12:- The tiger caught by the officials of forest department at Yadiyala village of Bandipur forest area succumbed to injuries at Mysuru zoo on Tuesday morning.

The tiger had strayed into Hediyala village from Hediyala forest last week. Villagers who spotted the tiger informed the forest department who tried to push it back to the forest. The forest department staff and veterinary doctors tried to capture the 8-year-old tiger at a farm belonging to one Veerabhadrappa. The tiger was tranquilised and later sent to Mysuru zoo but succumbed to injuries in the morning. (MR/KS).
