Mysuru, March 22:- Probable Congress candidate from Mysuru-Kodagu Constituency for the Lok Sabha elections, C H Vijayashankar visited the residence of Kodagu District In-charge Minister Sa Ra Mahesh and discussed with him about the political developments here on Friday. He went to the minister’s house at Chamaraja Mohalla in the morning to seek his support.
He was speaking to media persons in the city after discussing with the minister.
“Coalition government in the state is nine months now. Secular powers should be united to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Though Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress has a coalition, differences always crop up in old Mysuru. The fruit of the coalition set-up should go to both the parties. For that, all the party workers should be united.”
Continuing further, he said, “JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda has assured AICC president Rahul Gandhi of winning 20 seats in Karnataka. We won’t give any chance for misunderstanding and will try to solve if there are any. I have discussed the same with Minister Mahesh. JD(S)-Congress will hold a joint meeting in Mysuru in the coming days. Deve Gowda, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will come to Mysuru for campaigning in the days ahead. More importantly, District In-charge Minister G T Devegowda and Siddaramaiah will be seen on the same stage during electioneering.”
Former MLA H P Manjunath, District Congress president B J Vijay Kumar and others were present. (MR/KS).
