Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the police officials to maintain the law and order in Karnataka in view of the upcoming Tipu Jayanti in state.
He held a meeting with senior police officials at his residence Krishna and analysed the law and order in the state.
“Some are trying to politicise Tipu Jayanti and gain political mileage. They are trying to disturb peace and harmony in the state for their benefit and it should not be allowed,” said the Chief Minister.
He garnered information regarding the precautionary measures to be implemented to maintain law and order and told them to handle the situation efficiently.
The CM suggested the police to arrest anti-social elements and also keep an eye on fundamentalists.
Deputy Commissioners should be present in the district centres and senior police officials should be present to look after the security measures, he said.
Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar, Adviser to Home Minister Kempaiah, Parliamentary secretary of CM, K Govindaraju, Chief Secretary L K Ateek, Kannada and Culture Department Chief Secretary Umashankar, Director Dayanand, Director General of Police Om Prakash and others were present at the meeting.
