Parade rehearsal held ahead of Independence Day on Saturday

Mysuru, August 13:- With only 48 hours to go for the Independence Day on Saturday (August 15), rehearsal for the parade was held at Bannimantap Ground here today (July 13). In the rehearsal held from 8 am to 10 am, civil police, KSRP, CAR, DAR, Mounted Police, fire brigade and home guards units took part with utmost seriousness.

All those participating in the parade were immaculately dressed watched by Mysuru Police Commissioner Dr Chandragupta and DCP Dr A N Prakash Gowda.

In view of the coronavirus pandemic, the participation of school students has been banned.

District in-charge Minister S T Somashekar will unfurl the tricolour in the morning on Saturday. Doctors, cops, health attendants, ASHA workers and pourakarmikas, who have been referred to as ‘corona warriors,’ will be special invitees for the occasion.

The number of invitees and participants will also be restricted to a couple of hundreds. (MR/KS)
