Prime News, Nation, (New Delhi), April 10:-As of 10 April 2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have confirmed a total of 6,412 cases, 504 recoveries (including 1 migration) and 199 deaths in the India.
Among the total coronavirus cases in the country, there are 5,709 active cases. A total of 503 people have successfully recovered from Covid-19.
To put the figures in perspective, April 9 has become India’s worst day, having reported a jump of 809 cases; the highest rise of infections in a day.
The Northeast today witnessed its first death after a 65-year-old man died due to coronavirus in the Hailakandi District of Assam, confirmed Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
A 65-year-old woman died due to coronavirus in Rajasthan today, an official confirmed. A 78-yr-old woman from Mohali in Punjab, who had died on April 7, was confirmed today as having been infected with Covid-19.
Two more patients, including an elderly man, succumbed to COVID-19 in Gujarat, taking the toll in the state to 19, said officials on Friday.
Three cancer patients tested positive for Covid-19 today, at the Delhi State Cancer Institute. Recently, 18 medical staff from the hospital had also become infected with the novel coronavirus disease.
Five more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Dharavi, Mumbai, taking the tally in the slum-dominated area here to 22, said BMC officials on Friday.
A total 720 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Delhi till now, of which 22 of them are in ICU and seven on ventilator, said Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
According to Ministry of Health Friday updates, the highest number of confirmed cases recorded from Maharashtra at 1364, followed by Tamil Nadu at 834 and Delhi cloaked 720 positive cases. Kerala reported 357 COVID-19 cases, Telangana 442, Uttar Pradesh 410 and Rajasthan 463 cases. No new cases reported in Andhra Pradesh and the tally stands at 348 coronavirus cases.
Novel coronavirus cases have risen to 259 in Madhya Pradesh and 241 in Gujarat. No changes to Jammu and Kashmir figures of 158 cases, West Bengal has 116, Haryana 169 and Punjab 101 cases of the infection.
39 people were infected with the virus in Bihar while Uttarakhand has 35 patients and Assam 29. Odisha reported 44 coronavirus cases, Chandigarh 18, Ladakh 15 and Himachal Pradesh 18 cases.
11 cases each have been reported from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and 10 in Chhattisgarh. Goa has reported seven COVID-19 infections, followed by Puducherry with five cases. Jharkhand has reported 13 cases on Friday and Manipur two. Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh have reported one case of the infection each.
“State-wise distribution is subject to further verification and reconciliation,” the ministry said on its website.
