TP CEO warns of stern action if water tankers are not clean
In the wake of reported increase in dengue cases in Hunsur, Taluk Panchayat Chief Executive Officer C R Krishna Kumar warned of stern action against Panchayat Development Officers if complaints were received in connection to cleanliness of tankers and pipeline.
He was speaking at a Taluk level PDOs meeting on providing adequate drinking water to the public. He told the PDO’s to educate people on using water judiciously.
Taluk Panchayat in association with Public Health Department has come up with posters and he advised the PDO’s to make use of them by pasting them in every village. “Tankers must be cleaned frequently, pipelines should be maintained without which there are chances of water contamination” he warned.
He cautioned against water stagnation the culprit of mosquito breeding. As cases of dengue and liver related diseases have already been reported precautionary measures should be taken to put an end to an outbreak of epidemic he added.
Health Officer Dr Keerthi Kumar explained about the precautionary measures that should be taken and released posters on infectious diseases.
Senior Officers Shivananju, Assistant Director Taluk Panchayat Krishnamurthy, and PDO’s from villages were present.
